A weekend in the countryside to nourish body and soul
Goedgedacht Farm, Riebeeksrivier (near Riebeek Kasteel)
Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd November 2019
“The body is my temple and asanas are my prayers.” ~ B.K.S Iyengar
This residential weekend is an opportunity to nourish The Body Temple. Heather and Danielle will guide you in an exploration of the chakras, yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation – the yogic way for transforming and balancing your energetic body and life.
With a focus on the subtle energy body, you’ll get to know your chakras and learn how to clear your energy, find balance and super-charge your light body. The energy work will be supported by yoga asanas and meditation as well as quiet solo time to gaze at the view, wander through the olive groves or walk the labyrinth.
Throughout the weekend, we will cultivate awareness, stillness, presence and embodiment.
About the chakra work
Facilitated by Heather
The seven major chakras are the energy centres of the subtle energy body – or light body. When your chakras are strong and balanced, you have more life force energy for your path.
The chakra work is experiential, with lots of practical tools to integrate into your daily life. You’ll be guided to tune into your chakras, to identify and clear blockages, and to get your energy flowing. You’ll also work with your grounding and energetic boundaries.
About the yoga
Facilitated by Danielle
Working within the Iyengar tradition, the yoga asanas will encourage body awareness and further explore the chakra system. The focus will be on nourishing the physical body and enhancing the flow of energy in the subtle bodies. Breathwork will be included in the yoga sessions.
Suitable for all levels, no prior yoga experience necessary.

About the facilitators
Danielle is an experienced yoga teacher in the Iyengar tradition. After studying law and archeology, Danielle soon found out that practicing Universal law best suited her spiritual quest. In 2010, she embarked on her three-year Iyengar Yoga Teachers’ Training programme and taught full-time in Franschoek for five years. In 2015, she gained her Junior Intermediate Level 1 certificate, through the BKS Iyengar Institute of South Africa, and spread her wings to the relatively barren yoga lands of the Swartland and Witzenburg. Now based in Riebeek Kasteel, Danielle teaches weekly group, private and remedial yoga classes in Riebeek Kasteel, Tulbagh, Mooreesburg, Ceres and Wellington. She has co-facilitated workshops and retreats in Tulbagh and does regular locums in such exotic places as Hermanus. Assisting people to find their inner and outer liberation is what inspires Danielle to keep spreading the Iyengar concept of ‘My body is my temple and asanas are my prayers’.
Heather’s calling is to offer spaces for transformation and spiritual exploration. She has trained in a number of modalities in South Africa, England and the United States and has many years’ experience in the healing arts. She is an accredited Energy Healer with the School of Intuition and Healing, based in London and Cape Town, and was a tutor with the School in Cape Town for five years. She is a professional Soul Coach, certified through the Soul Coaching® International Training Institute in California, and a Hypnotherapy practitioner, certified through the Past Life Regression Academy in London. Since 2010, she has had her own full-time energy healing practice and during this time ran regular workshops and courses in Cape Town. Prior to 2010, she co-facilitated several Wilderness Retreats in the Little Karoo and a Yoga & Massage retreat in the UK. She relocated to Riebeek Kasteel in 2018.

In days of old, the Kasteelberg was part of sacred Khoi San land and to this day, it is a powerful energy centre on the path of a ley line, which runs through the Riebeek Valley.
